At the risk of being repetitive, and depressing, I feel compelled to point out the fact that it’s raining again. Having been chained to my desk for a few weeks and then this week to paint pot and step ladder, I was looking forward to spending a day in the garden. But despite the long to do list, I really can’t face it in this dreadful weather. Easier by far to race outside, cut a few things and bring the essence of my garden back to the kitchen table.
And how pretty and uplifting that posy is. Blasted rain. I am officially fed up.
Thank you! Earlier in the year I was grateful for the rain, but really, now that school is nearly out for the summer I’m beginning to feel quite desperate!
the flowers look lovely,
Oh if only I could have a piece of your garden on my kitchen table! We are having 24hrs of a month’s worth of rain today. I got through the rain in the early days of the wet summer by saying ‘at least it’s good for the garden’. Well the garden’s now saturated. It’s overgrown because I can’t get out there to garden it with toddlers in the rain. And only the ducks are happy (there are large puddles where the village cricket pitch once was). Yes, I am more than a little grumpy.
poor you, I hope you survived!
We are renowned for talking about the weather! The rain just seems to go on and on doesn’t it! I’m glad you still enjoy the garden from inside such a pretty posy.

It’s never ending, isn’t it? At least I’m getting the chance to wear my new mac, if nothing else… Lovely little photo!
Hi,
Beautlful blooms; I’m beginning to think the same at the moment. Since I won’t get to enjoy the blooms outside, I might as well bring them indoors and enjoy them here instead!
This weather is really beginning to get me depressed now; 3 months of it!!!!!!!!
Hi,
Such beautiful flowers, your blog is a real inspiration. I’ve nominated you for an award on my blog!
Charlotte
Thank you so much – I’m afraid I’m not very good at this awards malarky, I can never quite remember to do the necessary links, answers and so on, and most of my favourite blogs are already on my blog list, but I’ll try, although a bit swamped on the work-front at the mo.
You seem to have all my parents’ bits and pieces. We had a jug just like that!
Isn’t the weather dreadful? And it’s making everything grow so fast as well. I just can’t bear the fact that everything is just overwhelmed with sheer growth at the same time as being battered and soggy.
I see you’ve changed your header as well. I just changed mine to reflect the weather.
Ha! just changed it again, again. I picked the jug up in a car boot in Wales – could it have been theirs, I wonder? Although I usually use it for flowers, I always think of custard when I look at it!
A really beautiful posy. Unfortunately, my garden is small and the flowers I would normally bring in are really battered and my beautiful Iceberg rose is more brown than white.
Maybe we will get a nice September if that dratted gulf stream moves northwards!
Ever the optimist, I have high hopes for september too!
