This morning the garden was coated with a thin sparkling frost, and there was a distinct chill in the kitchen. Time for porridge, the first batch of the new year. We fired up the wood burner for the first time too, and it felt as though winter had finally arrived.
Great photo, love the steam curling from the porridge bowl. The frost is still on the ground this evening.
I eat porridge virtually every day of the year!
Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr, it’s proper winter today! I like the sound of the wood burner but I’ll leave the porridge to you!
Lovely picture!
I love porridge, especially with a spoonful of blackcurrant jam!
Another porridge eater here, I’ve even been know to eat it for lunch as well as breakfast. On it’s own, or with a dollop of honey, or a handful of raisins, or some fresh berries … oh yum. Hmm, you know what I’ll be eating next don’t you
Muted colours in photo remind me of old masters.
Witch hazel and dogwood looking good in hard frost here. Inside temp is 6C / 42F…but then we’re having windows rennovated so two large gaping spaces upstairs where bedroom windows were this morning and the front door is open so the guys can run the cable for their saw into the garden. Brrrr. Hot soup for lunch!
